N2  - Abstract: The objective of this study was to elucidate the consumption habits of milk and dairy products from the inhabitants of the municipality of Sena Madureira-Acre, and their association with gender, age, preferences and socioeconomic data. The method adopted was descriptive. The data were collected through a questionnaire containing 22 questions, applied in the months of January to August of 2016, together with 401 consumers, responsible for buying food from their families in different parts of the city. The variables were processed and analyzed using Excel l® software (Office 2013). The analyzed data obtained the following results: 73% of buyers of milk and milk products are female, have a per capita income of up to a minimum wage and age group between 30 and 59 years. Among the analyzed inhabitants, milk and its by-products are consumed daily, with 95% of respondents buying milk of the industrialized type and the quality and nutritional aspects of milk are considered the main attribute at the time of purchase. It is concluded in the municipality of Sena Madureira-Ac, the income of consumers is not a determining factor for an increase in the consumption of milk and dairy products and that studies on the milk market (North region) are carried out, since there are deficiencies of academic research in this sector
