The activity has a fundamental role in food security, employment generation and income, as well as softening the environmental pressure on fish stocks. Knowledge of the profile of the activity, as well as of the fish farmers, can help in the greater efficiency of the pisciculture practiced in the Brazilian municipalities. In this sense, the objective of this work was to evaluate and characterize the profile of fish farmers in the municipality of Sena Madureira-AC, considering the socioeconomic aspects, their perspectives of growth and future development of the activity. The study was carried out in the municipality of Sena Madureira, State of Acre, located in the Amazon biome, northern region of Brazil, through the use of questionnaires containing objective questions of a socioeconomic nature, applied through a personal interview with sixteen fish farmers of the municipality by the method survey. The data obtained were tabulated with the help of Excel® software version 1803 for Windows 10. Descriptive statistics were used to construct graphs, in order to better expose the results. The predominant cultivation system is semi-intensive, practiced in terra firme structures, with good technological implantation and with immense potential of expansion. The data presented can serve to subsidize public and private sectors in their strategic actions to improve productive actions and processes in order to ensure that fish farming is considered a strong ally of the municipality's economy.
