The consumption of beef is a reality that covers the whole world, presenting great nutritional importance for the human being. Domestic cattle breeding in recent decades has shown steady growth rates in terms of production, exports and consumption. Brazil is among one of the largest exporters in the world, and its demand is linked to several factors, such as: religion, price, quality, nutritional aspects, and preference, in addition to the socioeconomic structure. In this sense, this study aimed to survey the consumption of beef in the municipality of Sena Madureira-Acre. The survey was carried out in the 25 neighborhoods of the city using a multiple choice questionnaire consisting of 18 questions, and was applied to 16 households in each neighborhood by means of systematic sampling. The data obtained were tabulated in a Microsoft Office Excel spreadsheet for analysis and interpretation of the results of the variables under study. It was found through the results of the research that of the 400 interviewees, 35.75% were male and 64.25% female. As for family income, 76.25% have income ranging from 01 to 03 minimum wages. Beef is the first consumer favorite (74.25%), followed by chicken (21.25%). Socioeconomic income is a factor that does not influence the type of meat to be purchased, consumers are willing to buy top quality meat (70.37%), regardless of income, that is, although meat is considered expensive by most consumers (61.28%) consumption remains unchanged. As for the types of cuts preferred by consumers, the rump (18.3%) stood out in relation to the other cuts, followed by the steak (15.2%). Among the main reasons associated with the consumption of beef, there are cultural issues (custom), representing 47% of the justifications, followed by the flavor that corresponds to 32%. The high consumption of beef in the municipality may have been influenced by the predominance of livestock, with expressiveness for beef cattle, consequently increasing the supply, and providing greater accessibility to consumers.
